St George's Episcopal Church

Welcome in the Name of our Lord Jesus ChristSince 1959, Saint George’s is committed to making a difference in the name of Jesus Christ on the Southside of Savannah and in the greater Church. We accomplish this through exceptional worship, radical hospitality and caring and grace-filled outreach to the community. We are centered in the Sacramental life, the Holy Eucharist being our principal act of worship. We are strengthened by the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ to reach out in welcome to the stranger and in service to the least of our brothers and sisters. We are grounded in the reality of being the Body of Christ in this place, the continuing Incarnation of the reconciling love of Jesus Christ.

Day of Pentecost - May 19, 2024

Day of Pentecost

Almighty God, on this day you opened the way of eternal life to every race and nation by the promised gift of your Holy Spirit: Shed abroad this gift throughout the world by the preaching of the Gospel, that it may reach to the ends of the earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

"We do not draw people to Christ by loudly discrediting what they believe, by telling them how wrong they are and how right we are, but by showing them a light that is so lovely that they want with all their heart to know the source of it."
